HELPFUL HINTS FOR REGULAR INSPECTIONS
The below information has been included to assist people who may just be starting out on their own and are unsure of what to prepare for with regards to a routine inspection being carried out.
We have compiled a list below outlining some areas that are frequently not up to speed for regular inspections.
- Build up of mould and/or scum in the showers/baths, on walls and bases, on sealant between laminate and tiles of vanities, around bases of taps and in tracks of sliding shower screens.
- Build up of mould and/or scum around kitchen sink taps, on sealant between laminate and tiles (particularly behind the sink area).
- Build up of spilt and burnt material on and around hotplates and in drip trays and to a lesser degree, ovens – especially the roof and grills.
- Accumulation of dirt in sliding window/door tracks.
- Cleaning products being stored on kitchen/laundry and bathroom windowsills causing paint to peel.
- Dirty areas in carpets e.g. cross over from kitchen/dining/lounge, outside bathrooms, around lounge chairs.
- Oil spills on garage floors and driveways.
- Build up of mould/slippery areas on paths/patio areas and driveways.
- Weeds and grass growing in flower beds/courtyard areas.
- Accumulated piles of garden trimmings heaped around the yard/courtyard.
